We are delighted to share that the refurbishment of our Town’s War Memorial and its surroundings is now complete. This project, made possible through generous funding from the UK Government, together with Developers contribution monies reflects both our deep respect for those who have served and our commitment to enhancing community spaces.
A Space for Reflection and Connection
The recently completed improvements were on full display last week during the Remembrance Day Service and the Armistice Service, which brought together our community to honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Attendees benefited from the newly elevated viewing platforms, which provided clearer, more expansive views of the ceremonies, ensuring a dignified experience for all.
The surrounding landscape now offers a serene and beautiful environment, perfect for reflection and remembrance.
While we celebrate the completion of these improvements, we’re also excited about future enhancements to our Town Park, including pond refurbishments, a performance area & a human sundial to improve their ecological health and aesthetic charm.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who supported this project and to the community for their patience throughout the works. We hope this revitalised space serves as a fitting tribute to those we remember and a place where our community can continue to gather, reflect, and connect.
