Eling Toll Bridge – new charges from 1st October 2024

New charges will apply at Eling Toll Bridge, with effect from 1st October 2024 as follows:

Daily charge for Toll 
£2.00 per day unlimited crossings
Weekly charge for Toll
£10.00 per week unlimited crossings
Motorcycles
£1.00 per day unlimited crossings
Non-payment of Toll Fee
£20.00 charge

Please note that all current exemptions for Eling Toll Bridge will cease on 30th September 2024.  The residents of Eling Hill, Bury Brickfields, the Vicar and church employees will be able to purchase an annual pass for £25.00 per vehicle from reception at Totton and Eling Town Council, Civic Centre, Totton.  The pass must be displayed in the front windscreen of the vehicle so that it is clearly visible when crossing the bridge.  The bridge has a maximum gross weight limit of 2 tonnes and the V5 for the vehicle will be required when the pass is purchased as proof of address and to ensure that it does not exceed the weight limit.

The charges and exemptions have been reviewed with the aim of reducing the amount of traffic crossing the bridge, to help to protect the structure and extend its life.  The Eling Tide Mill which is located on the bridge is a listed building with the bridge originally constructed to form a dam and mill pond.
